The Cèilidh Trail

Created by Fèis Rois in 2000, the Cèilidh Trail is a very popular four-week summer training event designed to help teenage musicians develop their performance skills and to create a vibrant traditional music entertainment programme in the Highlands.

Participants have an intensive training and rehearsal week before touring the Highlands for three weeks promoting Scottish traditional music and Gaelic culture. Training and rehearsals are led by some of the best musicians in the country, working on new music and using participants’ own ideas. All participants have Gaelic language lessons and develop technical skills such as how to use a P.A. system, dance calling, communicating with an audience and much more.

The Fèis Rois Cèilidh Trail is a superb opportunity to perform as part of a group and, as well as learning a host of new skills, there is time for socialising and meeting new people.

After the 4-week Trail, the group gets together again to play at Blas festival, supporting top class traditional artists.

The Cèilidh Trail 2008 runs from 21st July to 16th August. See our News page for this year's full Cèilidh Trail line up and details of our Summer tour. Download of all dates is available from download section on this page.
