Meanbh-chuileag
Meanbh-chuileag is the theatre-in-education (TIE) project administered by Fèisean nan Gàidheal. Established in 2000, it has visited in the region of 200 primary schools, working in both Gaelic and English-medium situations. Since its founding, over 10,000 children have seen a Meanbh-chuileag play.
In March 2008 the team completed a mammoth seven-week tour around nearly fifty Gaelic-medium schools with the specially-commisioned play Fògarraich na Grèine, which dealt with some of the major issues affecting our planet, including global warming and the need for recycling.
In April 2008 Taigh-tasgaidh Thaobh Siar Rois (The Wester Ross Museum) was taken round schools in the Gairloch area as part of a Gaelic week run by the Poolewe branch of An Comunn Gàidhealach.
Meanbh-chuileag regularly holds workshops in schools and at other events, and has a busy summer ahead with days planned in Edinburgh, Uist and East Kilbride.
